High-quality insect screens from INSEKTUM are equipped with frames that can withstand all weathers. This also applies to the fabric. It is therefore not necessary to take down the insect screen in winter. Many people wonder whether fly screens should be removed during the colder months. It can certainly remain in the window. Neither snow nor rain, ice or cold will affect a high-quality insect screen. As some insects are still active in winter, e.g. winter mosquitoes. Stilt midges, bugs, caddis flies and some types of spiders, it is advisable to leave your insect screen from INSEKTUM in the window all year round. This allows you to ventilate at any time without being disturbed by insects. It is advisable to clean the insect screen regularly, especially before the cold winter. If you remove pollen, cobwebs and other dirt from the fabric, you will also have the best view through your fabric during the winter.
Cleaning twice a year is sufficient to maintain the overall appearance of the aluminium frame and fabric for a long time. A pH-neutral cleaning agent, e.g. dishwashing detergent in the usual dilution, is suitable for cleaning the frame surface. Abrasive and scratching cleaning agents attack the surface and are therefore unsuitable. Insect and dirt residues are deposited on the highly tear-resistant and weatherproof fabric and should ideally be removed. The fabric can be optimally cleaned with a moistened microfibre cloth. It is also best to use a pH-neutral cleaning agent for this. The Transpatec fabric can also be carefully vacuumed with a hoover using the upholstery nozzle. A steam cleaner is unsuitable for cleaning as the water can penetrate the mitre or the handle. If this water freezes in winter, it can cause the profile to bulge or "burst open". It therefore only takes a few simple steps to maintain your insect screen from INSEKTUM. This ensures that you can enjoy your insect screen all year round. There is no need to remove the insect screens and they can be conveniently left in the window or door.
